- With least changes: Drive to Nayalap (10hrs)
- Most Ecofriendly: Take the Ranikhet Express to Kathgodam (overnight) and then the bus from Haldwani to Shitlakhet (6hrs).
From Dehradun
- Quickest: Take a flight to Pantnagar (35min) and a cab can be booked for you from there(5hrs).
- With least changes: Drive to Nayalap (10hrs)
- Most Ecofriendly: Take the Dehradun Kathgodam Express to Kathgodam (overnight) and then the bus from Haldwani to Shitlakhet (6hrs)
From Chennai
- Quickest: Take a flight to Pantnagar (10h 45min) and a cab can be booked for you from there(5hrs).
- With least changes: Take the flight to Delhi and then a cab can be booked for you to Nayalap (10hrs)
- Most Ecofriendly: Take the train from Chennai to New Delhi (overnight) and then the Ranikhet Express to Kathgodam (overnight) and then the bus from Haldwani to Shitlakhet (6hrs)

The cost for a private Suzuki Alto on a day trip (to Ranikhet/ Almora) would be Rs. 2,000 per day.
While you can take the bus to Almora to explore the city, we would not suggest a shared taxi or bus to Ranikhet as that would leave you with very little time to explore. Self-drive vehicles are not available in this area.
